Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can I get the transmitter wet?
A. Yes. However, the transmitter cannot be submerged in water. If you like to take baths you must prop your leg on the side of the bath tub to keep it out of the water.

Q. Can I keep my job?
A. Yes, you can keep your current job as long as you are able to provide verification of the dates and times you worked. This must include the name, address, and phone number of your place of employment and a current supervisor. The times must be verified with pay stubs and/or official time cards.

Q: Do I have to tell my employer I am on Home Detention?
A: You do not have to tell your employer that you are on home detention. We will not reveal the nature of our business to your employer unless you are having trouble verifying the hours you are working, we cannot find you in the event of an emergency, or we have suspicion that you are providing false verification. This will be more thoroughly explained during your appointment.

Q: Am I allowed to attend any family/friends functions, dinners, parties, etc.?
A: No, not unless you have obtained prior approval from your sentencing Judge.

Q: Am I allowed to change my residence after I'm alreay on home detention?
A: Yes, as long as the court hasn't restricted you to live in a certain location while on home detention. If the court hasn't you must complete the "change of address" form 24 hours prior to your move to the new location. You will need to submit a copy of the new lease/mortgage and phone bill for the residence. Once you unplug your HMU to move, you must immediately take it to the new residence and plug it back in.
